The program curriculum emphasizes school administration and organization, effective leadership strategies, campus business management, and the teaching skills. Students in this program will also possess the skills necessary to evaluate and develop programs for overall school improvement, and implement research to improve instruction and curricula.
Next, the program will also prepare and sharpen teachers for a wide range of positions ranging from teachers, university lecturers to school administrators or managers, in order to upgrade their professional levels and improve their career prospects.
Last but not least, the program is designed for professionals in the fields of English Language teaching and school management, including instructors, curriculum developers, and school administrators who wish to gain a higher degree in majors including teaching English, especially at university levels, language program administration, and higher education management.
There are two different types of admission requirements for this M. Ed program:
Type 1:hold a Bachelor’s degree in English
pass the program entrance exam.
hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Science or other related fields and have a good command of English (IELT with overall band at least 5 or TOEFL with a total score at least 500 or a passed score of M. Ed English proficiency test)
pass the program entrance exam.
The student must fulfill the following requirements to graduate from this program:
Option 1having successfully completed a minimum of 45 credits = 15 required coursework excluding any credit transfers,
having successfully completed the practicum or senior project report = 6 credits,
and passing the M. Ed comprehensive exit exam.
having successfully completed a minimum of 33 credits = 11 required coursework excluding any credit transfers,
and having successfully completed the M. Ed thesis writing = 12 credits.
